This is a Dumbo fan art I’ve been meaning to get done for some time now. I love the scene where Dumbo’s mom sings to him while she’s trapped, it’s so sad and beautiful at the same time!Anyway, since tumblr always resizes my wallpapers, if you want it in a better resolution (1920x1200), you can get it on my DeviantArt gallery here (hit the DOWNLOAD button on the right side to get at full resolution) - http://lilibz.deviantart.com/art/mon-bebe-cheri-304341635 - hope you like it as much as I enjoyed drawing it! :)

Last month I was featured on The Pixar Times, an awesome Pixar-related blog I’ve been following for a looong time! This is the PixArt piece I came up with :) you can read it all here - http://pixartimes.com/2012/04/25/pixart-april-2012-feature-ii-monsters-elementary/ - I attached some close up details for you too, since after all the old VHS effects, it all disappeared :( sigh, but we live and learn!

I had sooo much fun with this it’s crazy! I’ve poured my heart into it, so I really hope you guys like it! :)

A late xmas gift for you! Apparently tumblr is resizing the wallpaper for some reason. If you’d like the 1920*1080 size, you can go here - http://lilibz.deviantart.com/art/gingerbread-twinkie-285652312 - and download it! :)

This one was really fun! Originally I was going to do the reindeer only, but later I thought that a set of 3 marching animals would be really cute :) I like how it serves as something for christmas and as well as non christmas-related stuff.

A really late xmas card :) this time I wanted to give a try on different ways of painting.

This is a story I got to draw last month, which is part of a book that will come out next year called Notas Fúnebres. It’s about weird death stories of people that used to live in Curitiba, Brazil (where I live). The only thing we needed to stick to was that it had to be in black and white, and it had to be just 2 pages, the rest we could choose the way we wanted to. I always loved the early Mickey Mouse B&W style, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to apply that :) I like the way it turned out :)

So, this was a really fun thing I did for two very dear friends of mine that will be moving to Canada next year to start a new life :)

I had a blast creating the models from scratch, testing the mockups, drawing, messing with the color palette and finally putting it all together in the end. They are really big - you know, being papertoys -, I can’t quite remember the height of each (since I finished ‘em minutes before the going-away party), but I think they exceed 8 inches tall. The backpack is huge, you can actually put stuff inside of it (not heavy stuff), and they can actually hold hands! :D

Creating papertoys is sooo much fun! I had the chance to work with it a couple of times before, but this one was incredibly fun and I hope I can get the chance to work with papertoys again in the near future! :)

Pictures taken by my friend (and boy papertoy), Tiago Americo.

Some of the backgrounds I painted back in 2010 for my Graduation Project mentioned on the previous post :)

Graduation Project 2010
Graphic Design UFPR
Students: Eliane M. Horie and Suzana G. Cavalcanti

This animated teaser is our Graduation Project at Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR, Brazil). Our main goal was to simulate a teaser trailer from a fictional original animated feature called The Legend of Meeks. Other than that, we had to create all the necessary material for it to be able to be showcased on a movie pitch, like main story, main characters (their looks, palettes, model sheets, personality, story, etc), main backgrounds, visual ID (logo, palette, official fonts, graphic materials like DVD cover and posters, etc), the universe and its concepts, part of its script, storyboard, and a lot, lot more. We had roughly 3 to 4 months to complete the entire project.

The Legend of Meeks is a project that was born on june 2009, and since then, we’ve put so much effort on building the story and the characters, that we decided to use it as our Graduation Project.

Synopsis: A young brave Meek named Sike is the greatest warrior of Wintuk Village, put through a rigorous training by his adoptive father, Master Lukei. Sike was born on Tarluk Day, which granted him with the rarest power among all Meeks, the Divine Fire. Two decades later, this dark phenomenon will repeat itself with a promised return of one of the greatest threats Wintuk Village has ever feared, the regress of Keelut.
Warned by an ancient hero, Sike ends up discovering that he’s about to face something much larger than expected. With the help of a legendary creature by his side, Sike will confront the greatest battle of all time.

This project has no commercial purposes. Since this is a Graduation Project, our only purposes are educational. The soundtrack used is from The Last Airbender Movie and it was edited to suit our project. This soundtrack belongs to Paramount Pictures/Nickelodeon and we were NOT given any permission nor authorization to use this soundtrack. The film rating screen was used to enhance the simulation of how a real life teaser would be. We were not rated by the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc. All logos and materials used belong to their respective owners.

Some backgrounds I did for the project I worked on, mentioned on the previous post. These are just a few of the +90 backgrounds I painted for the animated shorts. I had a lot of fun messing with the color palettes. :)
